It is of the utmost importance to the Total Home Services Team to take care of the beautiful planet we inhabit. Here in British Columbia, one of the most stunning natural settings in the world, it is crucial that we minimize our environmental impact. Not only to preserve the beauty, but try to undo the damage caused by years of burning fossil fuels and over consumption. Every single employee at Total Home Services Ltd. promises to behave in a likeminded manner because we, along with our great clients, can improve the world we live in, with small steps each day. Unlike other companies who have adopted greener measures, Total Home Services has been BUILT with green in mind. We are proud to say that Total Home Services is the first home services company in the lower mainland to implement a strict CARBON OFFSETTING policy.

1. Our carbon offsetting measures include the precise calculation of our carbon footprint, which is determined by adding up all the ways in which we might create harmful carbon emissions. (Of course we do everything we can to limit these emissions in the first place). This calculation is scientific in nature.
2. Then, with the help of our wonderful carbon offsetting company, our carbon emissions are translated into a specific number of trees that require planting in order to eliminate our carbon footprint.

What Total Home Services Ltd. is doing to help keep our planet green:

List of “green” measures since inception:

• NO harmful chemical solvents, only natural cleaning products, bio-degradable
• Recycled plastic buckets
• Refurbished auto parts for Total vehicles
• Reusable towels washed only once per week, recycled microfibre cloths washed once per week (eco-friendly laundry detergent used sparingly!)

Summer 2008:

• Carbon Offsetting all vehicles, gas pressure washing systems and home office.
• Total Home Services Honda Ruckus scooter, 90 MPG opposed to 15 MPG in a car
• Recycled paper only: business cards, client thank you letters, invoice sheets, estimates and receipts (e-mailing invoices and estimates is encouraged!)
• Pressure washing surface cleaner, 5x reduction in water consumption
• Eco-friendly and bio-degradable laundry detergent for cleaning rags and towels
• 'Spill safe' jerry cans for absolutely no gasoline spills with pressure washing systems

Coming summer 2008:

• High efficiency electric pressure washing, HIGH pressure LOW water system.
